えいご漬け

通勤電車の中では何をしてらっしゃいますか？

本や新聞を読んだり、ＭＤやipodを聞きながらケータイをチェックしたり、はたまた雑誌の車内広告を
見たりしていることと思います。

私は、いつもipodで単行本なのですが、先週本を忘れた日がありました。

そうすると、すごく手持ち無沙汰なんですねぇ。。。

メールをチェックしても返すべきメールもなくメニュー検索をしていると、「えいご漬け」を見つけました。

ご存知の任天堂ＤＳのソフトの携帯版ですが、お試しの腕試しをやってみたら嵌ってしまいました。

英文を読んで質問に答える問題のテキストの内容自体が結構おもしろいので、ご参考までに紹介したいと思います。

What are you doing while commuting on the train?

Some may be reading a book or a newspaper, others listening to music by MD or ipod while checking their mobiles, still others looking at hanging posters.

I'm usually reading a book while listening to music on my ipod.

Someday in the last week, I forgot to bring a book and enjoyed “Eigozuke”(えいご漬け)
which is an English training program for mobiles.

The content level isn’t so difficult and the test for our English skill is very enjoyable.

I especially like the exercise to understand the meaning of English text.

So, I would like to show you an example;

  The number of international marriages between a Japanese and a non-Japanese is on the rise.
  It’s more than three times what it was 20 years ago.
　When two people start a life together, there appear to be many differences.
　Even a Korean-Japanese couple, people whose countries are closely related to each other, 
　will face a large cultural gap. 
　But once they decide to “enjoy” the difference, their life will become unique and 
　twice as enriched – maybe more.

　Q: How common was an international marriage 20 years ago?

○　Very rare
○　About a third as common compared to today
○　As common as today
○　Twice as many as today

I think “Eat well and sleep well, and everything will be fine!”
Also, “Enjoy myself in everything I do, and everything will be fine!”
