今日は「母の日」皆さんはどんなプレゼントをしたのでしょうか？
私は、ここ数年、京和菓子の老舗「鶴屋吉信」の｢母の日 薯蕷（じょうよ）まんじゅう」と新茶を贈っています。
この薯蕷まんじゅう、小倉と備中白小豆の二重あんを薯蕷で包んであり、カーネーション'
が画かれていて食べてしまうのがもったいないほど美しく仕上げてあります。

あんこはもちろん絶品で皮は山芋を使用しているので、しっとりとしています。
私はどんなに不機嫌なときでも、ここのお饅頭を食べるとたちどころにご機嫌になれるのです。
お値段は一個６３０円で、おまんじゅうとしては相当いいお値段ですが、プレゼントでしたら
いいんじゃないかと思います。

Mother’s Day is a day for celebrating motherhood and thanking mothers. It is held on the second Sunday of May in Japan which is the same day as in Western countries. I used to make my mother a coupon such as “massage ticket” or “dishwashing ticket” in my childhood. Sometimes children who live in the West seem to make breakfast for their mothers and serve them breakfast in bed. I think it’s a smart idea!!! I gave my mother and her sister Japanese-style confectionery called manju; a kind of Japanese-style bun stuffed with azuki-bean paste and Japanese green tea. The manju is specially made for Mother’s day by Tsuruya-Yoshinobu (鶴屋吉信), a long-established Japanese-style confectionery store in Kyoto(京都) and it is dating back to the Edo period(江戸時代). A pink carnation was painted on it’s surface and it is too beautiful to eat. This is my best manju but it is expensive :\630 yen each.
