TONY SEKOU

Sekouは、ニュージャージー州トレントンのマーサー・カウンティー・パフォーミングアーツに通い、モダン、ブレークダンス、ヒップホップ、ハウス、ヨガ、パルクール、カポエラを融合させ、ユニークでダイナミックなスタイルをつくりあげた。
ダンサーとして、ジャジー・ジェフ/フレッシュ・プリンスとツアーをし、 VH1ファッションアワードにてマライア・キャリーと共演、そしてユナイテッド ウィースタンドベネフィットコンサートにてマイケル・ジャクソンと共演。
映画出演歴はマーシーX、25th Hour（邦題25時）、ブラウンシュガー等。
ミュージックビデオに関しては、アレッサ・フランクリン、フォクシー・ブラウン/カケス、ジェイジー、MC ライト等のアーティストと共演。
MTVアワード受賞ビデオ、フォール・アウト・ボーイの「ダンス・ダンス」の振り付けを行い、舞台公演に関しては、フレッド・ホーの「ボイス・オブ・ザ・ドラゴン」での米国ツアー、自身の所属するダンスフュージョンと共にアルヴィン・エイリーでの公演等。
現在は世界各地でダンス・ワークショップ指導やストリート・ダンス・コンクール審査を行っている。
20年以上NYCアンダーグラウンド・ストリート・ダンス・コミュニティーのメンバーを務め、バトル・ゾーン(ロシア)、ストリート・スター/ジュストゥ・ドゥブ(スウェーデン)、ワールド・ダンス・コロシアム(日本)をバスト・ア・ムーブ(カナダ)、ステップ・ヤ・ゲーム・アップ(ニューヨーク)等に参加している。
また、独自のダンス/フィットネス・メソッド、パワーハウス・ダンス・フュージョン・フィットネスをつくりあげ、認定フィットネス・インストラクターでもある。
今までNYU、マディソン大学、ブロードウェー・ダンス・センター、アルヴィン・エイリー・エクステンションで指導し、現在はDNA、そして彼のクラスが認定プログラムの一部となっているペリダンス・カペツィオ・センターで指導している。

Sekou attended the Mercer County School of Performing Arts in Trenton NJ and fuses Modern, Break-dance, Hip Hop,House, Yoga and Parkour and Capoeria to create a unique and dynamic style.
As a dancer, he toured with Jazzy Jeff /Fresh Prince & performed with Mariah Carey @ VH1 Fashion Awards and with Michael Jackson at the United We Stand benefit concert.
His movie credits include Marcy X, The 25th Hour and Brown Sugar. He can be seen in music video’s with artist such as Aretha Franklin, Foxy Brown/ Jay Z, and MC LYTE. Sekou choreographed the MTV award winning Video “Dance Dance” by Fall Out Boy and his stage performances include a US tour with Fred Ho’s “Voice of the Dragon” as well as performances at Alvin Ailey with his group Dance Fusion. Currently Sekou travels internationally teaching dance workshops and judging street dance competitions. Sekou has been an active member of the NYC underground Street Dance community for over 20 years and has been a participant of , Battle Zone ( Russia), Street Star/Juste Debout (Sweden), Word Dance Coliseum (Japan), Bust A Move (Canada), Step Ya Game Up (New York) and more. He has created his own dance/fitness method, POWERHOUSE DANCE FUSION FITNESS and is a certified fitness instructor. He has taught dance at NYU, University of Madison, Broadway Dance Center, Alvin Ailey Extension and currently teaches at DNA and Peridance Capezio Center where his class is a part of the certification program.
