One thing I cannot understand about Japan is that Japanese men are very feminine. When I landed on Japan the first time after 10 years of stay in the US, I felt that there are only women living on this island. American women are more masculine than Japanese men. Especially the young Japanese males are pathetic. I thought that they are all shemales.
Unfortunately, Japanese men are not regarded as a male in the US. They are regarded as some strange harmless creature, like a hamster. Americans generally think that Japanese men are not supposed to date with white American females, which I disproved. It took me a couple of years to get American girls eyeball at me after eating loads of steaks and going to gym every weekends to tone out my body. Thankfully, I was blessed with the height of 6 feet, so I was not invisible among American crowds either. My wife used to make fun of a Japanese singer group, 'SMAP' for looking sooo "gay". But she thinks that Mifune Toshiro and Ken Watanabe are hot.
I think Japanese men should look more masculine and aggressive if they want to gain more attention in the international setup. If some Japanese shemale attended an international conference, nobody will take him(her) seriously, and that is where "Japan passing" happens. That is how world spins, as long as the United States rule the world.
I have always been wondering why there have been many demonstrations that US military should go away because the nuisance is annoying, but I have never heard the case for JSDF. Why in the heck is that? JSDF makes as much nuisance as US military creates. I have heard many crime cases caused by JSDF soldiers. On top of that, US military performs much stronger than JSDF. So why do you oppose to their presense? Because they are foreigners? That is just an utter bull.
Whoever it is whether they are Japanese or Americans, we need the ones who protect us. It does NOT matter. Since JSDF is such a wimp, we resort to employing the absolute power, which is the US military.
I tell you. In US, American soldiers are respected, even if he works next to you door. It is just the common sense, and anyone who thinks that is wrong should not live in Japan. You have an ideal place for you; The Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

They are going to come to you first, because it is close to N Korea, and it is a good location to place a logistic base for them."
When Iraqi war happened, I also felt a resent based on my Japanese perspective, but after interacting with American people, I finally understood that I was wrong. Japanese are the peculiar ones, not Americans. Japanese opinion is very well deviated from the common world standards. We are not living in the beautiful world full of friendship and peace. It is all illusion. We need to be equipped and prepared well for fighting, if you want to have a fair and peaceful negotiation.
We need American military, and we Japanese need to support them as much as we could. If you don't like that, imagine the life in North Korea awaiting you.
