アメリカに来て一ヶ月が経過した。
様々なことがあったのだけど、忘れないように書き残したい。
A month has already past since my family and I moved to States.
I experienced so many staff, I would like to write the important staff down not to forget.
ちなみに授業はまだ１週間しか行っていないが、結構たいへんで焦っている。
Even though I only took classes for a week, I feel really upset about so many staff going on in rapid speed.
１：TOEFLとかGMATの勉強って、MBAでも役に立つ
The skills that you obtained throughout studying TOEFL and GMAT are really beneficial when you go to MBA program.
これには相当驚いた。ただの試験勉強だと考えていた自分。。。恥ずかしい！
試験勉強でやってきたことってすごく意味があった。
ライティングやスピーキングはアメリカの中で最も好まれるライティングスタイルであるイントローボディーコンクルージョンのスタイル。
かつ、無駄に難しい構文を並べるのではなく、いかに分かりやすく簡潔に書くか。
「Less is Moreがアメリカの文化だ！」と留学生対象のオリエンテーションで言われたのが衝撃だったなぁ。
I was really surprised because at the time I studied for TOEFL and GMAT, I never thought that these skill would be tranferable to MBA program.
Actually I found out that the study that I did was really important.
Especially for writing and speaking, the intro-body-conclusion style is really useful.
Trying to avoid unclear sentences by not using "difficult" term and grammer, writing and speaking as clearly, in the meaning, as possible is really important.
I also learned essential American culture, that is " Less is More", which I learned from International Student Orientation from Matt Baca, great teacher.
２：アメリカではネットワーキングが命
Networking is very important in U.S.A.
インターンをするにしても就職をするにしても、相手に自分を知ってもらうことが日本以上に大切。
日本だと履歴書出して、面接受けて、結果を待つ。
アメリカだと履歴書を出す前に企業の人と知り合いになり、自分のことを知ってもらい、その上で履歴書を提出〜面接となる。
学歴や書類に現れない情報が非常に大切で、やはりビジネスって人だなと改めて実感。
It is really important to show who you really are if you want internship or getting job.
In Japan knowing people is not considered so much, you just need to turn in resume and have interview with executive.
But in the States, it is essential for you to network with people and try to let them know who you really are and what you are aiming for.
Over all invisible information about you, not like your school and resume, is most important. This fact makes me realize that human resource is most important key, if you want to get success in the business.
