A Crow and a Red Halcyon(Ruddy kingfisher)
Once upon a time, there lived a crow in the red clothes and a halcyon in the black clothes in the Amami woods.
One day, a red crow came to the pond to wash himself. Being mirrored on the pond ,he said to himself,"I am the most beautiful bird in the world." He was very proud of his red clothes.
Taking off his clothes, he began to wash his body. He was flapping his wings cheerfully.
After a while, a halcyon came to the pond, too.
"Good morning, Mr. Crow♪ Your clothes look so beautiful that seem to shine like hibiscus flowers," said the halcyon.
"Thank you, Mr. Halcyon," said the crow.
"I am thankful to have such beautiful clothes. And yours are beautiful, too. Your clothes appear to be the moonless night in the woods," said the crow to the black halcyon cynically.
The halcyon became sad and got to want the red clothes.
After several days, the halcyon came to the pond again. He heard the crow humming and washing.
Looking round here and there, he could find the beautiful red clothes on the big tree near the pond.
"These clothes are so beautiful. And they'll suit me better than him," he said to himself.
Taking off the black clothes quietly, he put red ones on and flew away quickly.
Coming up from the pond, the crow found his clothes stolen. He got angry at being stolen his favorite clothes. The black ones were left at his feet.
Putting on the black clothes reluctantly, he began to fly after the red halcyon.
You'll hear his calling,"Hey! Wait! Caw,caw. Give my red clothes back to me, caw, caw."
Now you'll understand why the crows are black and fly after the red halcyon in the Amami woods.
Many kinds of animals are living in the Amami woods. Those have their own ways to live.
Those are very unique. We should live together with those animals and learn many important things from the nature with love.
There are many kinds of animals on the earth
A great variety of lives is important, I think
