George Sabra, the acting head of the Western-backed Syrian National Coalition, said the battle for Qusair, a town in western Syrian, was just "one round" in a larger fight to "liberate Syria."
Sabra's remarks Wednesday are the first by the opposition since the Syrian army, backed by militants of Lebanon's Hezbollah group, captured Qusair earlier in the day.
He slammed Hezbollah's "murderous" involvement in the Qusair fight and warned the group's role in the Syrian battle will deepen the Sunni-Shiite rift in the region.
Hezbollah is a Shiite group and the Syrian rebels are overwhelmingly Sunni Muslim.
