Yesterday was the one month anniversary of the 3/11 earthquake. As we silently remembered that faithful day, Mother Nature helped us relive the moment by sending another 7.1M jolt, along with smaller tremors that swayed us to sleep. As if it weren't enough, several shakes woke us up to a bright and sunny day! Sometimes, Mother Nature really has a strange sense of humor.
昨日は3月11日の東日本大震災のちょうど1ヵ月目。静かに震災が起きたその日を思い起こす最中、母なる自然は、忘れさせまいと以前よりは弱い揺れを伴うマグニチュード7.1の地震を私たちに再び体験させてくれました。それでは十分ではないかのごとく、たび重なる余震は晴れたいい天気の日に目を覚まさせてくれました！母なる自然は、時に変わったユーモアのセンスの持っています、ほんとうに。
As I ponder on how to go about this day, I would like to share with you my latest iPhone discovery. I found this iPhone application last night. It is called "Yurekuru for iPhone."
この日をどう過ごそうものかと思案した結果、私の最新のiPhoneの発見をみなさんにお伝えしたいと思います。このiPhoneアプリは昨夜見つけました。ゆれくるコールfor iPhoneというものです。
It sends an Early Earthquake Warning notice to your iPhone (similar to a normal SMS message). The alarm sound is also the same as the one they use on TV. As you might have guessed it, this is my alarm clock this morning.
このアプリ、早い段階での緊急地震速報をiPhoneに送ってくれます。（通常のショートメッセージサービスと同じようなもの）警報もまたテレビで使われるものと同じです。もう察しはついたと思いますが、そうです、これが今朝の私の目覚まし時計でした。
All you have to do is to register the seismic intensity...
使い方はというと通知震度と...
and of course, the target location...
そしてもちろん、予測地点を設定するだけ...
And you're set! If there would be an earthquake with the set seismic intensity in your chosen area, the app would send the notice. This app is wonderful because you can anticipate a sudden tremor and most of all it's free. The downside is that the message is only in Japanese. But what the heck! It doesn't take an Einstein to know what it is about.
それだけです！あとは選んだエリアでの設定された震度で地震があれば、アプリが教えてくれます。このアプリはスグレ物です、だって急な地震を予測でき、何より無料なんですから。マイナス面と言えば、メッセージが日本語ということ。でもそんなことはどうだっていいのです！アインシュタインだってそれが何なのかがわかるのに時間はかからないでしょう。
