The start of April means different things to people. It is the beginning of the new fiscal year for businesses.
To my friend Precious, it's the day when another year is added to her age.
For most of us, it's a day that we should not be too gullible.
Oh yes... April 1 is also known as April Fool's Day or to some, All Fool's Day.

Since it was my rest day, I was fortunate to have evaded some tricks but that didn't stop me for pulling a fast one on a friend.
I created this sad story and told it to a friend who bought it instantly, probably forgetting that it's April 1.
It didn't take me long to inform my friend that it's only fiction.
We had a good laugh about it.
Playing tricks on people and showing hoaxes on this special day has been going on for sometime now.
One of the famous April Fool's hoaxes is the Swiss Spaghetti Harvest that aired on BBC in 1957.
The three-minute clip showed women harvesting spaghetti from a tree in Switzerland.
When it was broadcasted, BBC received a lot of calls for different reasons.
Some people were not amused by the clip.
However, some callers wanted to know how to grow such tree.
Instead of telling the interested people the truth, BBS carried on by saying that they should "place a sprig of spaghetti in a tin of tomato sauce and hope for the best."
