This morning while I was preparing my breakfast and at the same time thinking of what to post in this blog, I had a light bulb moment.
(A light bulb moment is when you have a sudden realisation or an idea, like the light bulbs used to indicate an idea in cartoons.)
An idea struck me about this blog's content.
Starting today, I will post an idiomatic expression or a proverb and explain the meaning of it.
At the same time, a situation will be described on how to use the expression properly.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
This is a proverb that means our feeling for those we love increases when we are apart from them.
As a foreigner teaching English in Japan, we usually experience this.
We miss our families and friends back home, especially during those special events that we can't be with them.
So what do we do?
We utilize the power of communication technology.
Thank God for those small gadgets that make us still part of each other's lives.
