A very flattering and kind introduction and description of my summer plans from Hōryū-sensei, one of the leaders at Chichibu Mandara Koya. To summarize in English, in August I plan to visit the three sacred mountains of Chichibu: Mt Bukō, Mt. Mitsumine, and Mt. Ryōkami. There are a couple of old pilgrimage routes that enter the mountains from the plains where I live. I decided this time, with lots of advice from Hōryū-sensei, to walk a route from Ogose that passes several important Shugendō sites on its way to Chichibu. After that, on to Bukō-san and the other mountains.
(By the way, I got the name of my blog from the moniker by which Hōryū-sensei has been calling me on his blog lately. Thanks, sensei!)
