Ex-employees want firm probed for tax evasion
Fifteen former employees of an non-governmental oreganisation want the body
investigated for alleged tax evasion and flouting of labour laws. The ex-employees of Ripples International Aid organisation in Meru are calling upon the non-
governmental Organisations Governing Board and Central Oraganisation of Trade
Union (COTU) to probe the firm. However, Ripples Directer Mercy Chidi denied
the claims. "nobody has been sacked, the employees have been working under
contract as per the guidelines of our sponsors whose contact ended December last
year", she said. On tax evasion she said the organisation had means of generating
income for its sustainability.
