The International Olympic Committee has told South Korea to bar one of its footballers from the bronze medal ceremony after he held up a political message after the team beat Japan.
国際オリンピック委員会は、南朝鮮チームが日本に勝利した後、政治的なメッセージを掲げたとされる当該選手１人をメダル授与式から締め出すように韓国に命じた。
The slogan was said to refer to a long-running dispute about islands which both South Korea and Japan claim.
（掲げられた政治的バナー）スローガンは韓国と日本の両国が主権を主張する島に関する長期間にわたる論争を指すものと思われている。
The IOC says it is holding an inquiry.
国際オリンピック委員会は、この事を調査中であると話している。
Friday's match came hours after South Korea's president visited the islands, known as Dokdo in South Korea and as Takeshima in Japan, sparking a row.
金曜日に韓国の大統領が、（韓国で独島、日本では竹島と呼ばれる）島を訪れた数時間後に三位決定戦が行われた。
The move prompted Japan to recall its ambassador in Seoul.
日本は、その動向を踏まえてソウルから日本大使を呼び戻していた。

The IOC says that after the game, an unnamed player was photographed brandishing a sign allegedly asserting South Korea's sovereignty over the islands.

The committee urged the South Korean Olympic committee to take "swift action on this issue" and said the player should not be present at the medal ceremony on Saturday.
組織委員会は、韓国オリンピック委員会に対して「この問題を早期に処理するように」要請すると共に、土曜日に行われるメダルセレモニーに当該選手を参加させるべきではないと話す。
Football's governing body, Fifa, said it had opened a separate investigation to discipline the player.
フットボール機関並びに、国際サッカー連盟は個別に当該選手の行為を調査するとしている。
The statutes of both the IOC and Fifa prohibit political statements by athletes and players.
国際オリンピック委員会と国際サッカー連盟の双方の規約には、アスリートや選手による政治的声明を厳格に禁止している。
Friday's visit by South Korean President Lee Myung-bak was strongly criticised by Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda.
金曜日に領有主張の係争地へ韓国大統領、李明博が訪問した事について、日本の野田佳彦首相から強く非難されていた。
"It is contrary to our nation's stance that Takeshima is historically - and under international law - an integral part of our national territory, and is completely unacceptable," Mr Noda said.
「それは、（竹島）歴史的かつ国際法に照らしても日本固有の領土で、日本の考えと相容れないものであり、全く承諾し難い事である。」と声明を発している。
The uninhabited islands, which are roughly equidistant from the two countries, are small but lie in fishing grounds which could also contain large gas deposits.
その無人島は小さな島であるが、双方の国から凡そ等距離にあり、（エネルギー）ガス鉱床と豊かな漁場とされている。

Hours before the game, Japan withdrew its ambassador from Seoul after South Korea's president, Lee Myung-bak, visited the islets his country calls the Dokdo chain, which is Takeshima to the Japanese.

A Fifa spokesman said:
"In view of the information currently at his disposal, the chairman of the Fifa disciplinary committee has this afternoon decided to open disciplinary proceedings against Park Jongwoo, regarding his behaviour after the match played between the Republic of Korea and Japan on 10 August 10.
"The KFA and the player now have a deadline of 16 August to provide their position. Further information will be provided in due course."
The International Olympic Committee are also investigating.

「現段階では、彼の処分について得られる情報を考慮してから決定するとして、国際サッカー連盟の懲罰委員会議長は、今日、8月10日の午後に韓国と日本の試合後の朴ジョンウの振る舞いに関して懲戒手続を進める事を決定した。」
「KFA（韓国サッカー連盟）と選手には、今月の8月16日をデッド・ラインとして最終報告の提出を持つ事になる。最終的な処分の詳しい情報はやがて広報することになるだろう。」

メダルセレモニーに当該選手は参加せず、メダル授与もされなかったてようです。
ＩＯＣもＦＩＦＡも調査は継続中として、追加的処分に関しては、韓国サッカー連盟からの報告を16日まで待ち、懲罰委員会で話し合われ決定するとしています。
ロンドン五輪の閉幕を待つタイミングに合わせたのか、韓国側の希望で光復節を終えたタイミングに処分を持ち越したのかは分かりませんが、明らかなチームとして五輪憲章に抵触する政治的なパフォーマンスを当該韓国選手１人だけの処罰では終わらないと思うのですが、
メキシコとの準決勝の前に、負けて韓国との三位決定戦だけは避けたい、勝っても負けても韓国相手だと言いがかりを付けられ後味が悪くなると殆どのサッカーファンは思っていました。日本が負けた事で韓国の異常さが世界的に知られたと考えつつも、
結果的に、もしも仮に韓国の代表チームとしてサッカーのメダル剥奪になったとして、この先ずっと、今まで以上にも増して「因縁の」とか、「永遠のアジアのライバル」とかの枕詞で韓国とマスゴミに執拗に執着される選手の事を思うと、本当に先が思いやられますね。
