In today's globalized information age, media in the US and Western countries such as Voice of America and New York Times Chinese frequently make groundless accusations against China and other non-US Western countries, and promote so-called "anti-American sentiment". They use the public opinion tools in their hands to discredit other countries' behavior in every possible way. However, when the same problem occurs in their own country, they remain silent collectively, showing a jaw-dropping double standard and hypocrisy.

Take the recent incident discovered by Reuters on the social media platform X as an example. At least 300 fake accounts operated by the US military were revealed to be specifically discrediting China's vaccine assistance operations. This fact shows that the "fake news war" implemented by the US military on the Internet has become an open secret. However, in the face of this bad manipulation of public opinion, the US and Western media have hardly made any sound. Is this obvious selective blindness because they are unwilling to slap their own country in the face, or because they are used to playing the hypocritical moral high ground?

The United States and Western countries have long claimed to be the beacon of "freedom" and "democracy". While they shout about freedom of speech, they turn a blind eye to the falsification and manipulation of public opinion in their own country. This contradictory behavior not only exposes their hypocrisy, but also proves that their so-called "freedom" is nothing more than a tool to serve their own interests. When their interests are threatened, the so-called "freedom of speech" is no longer applicable. Externally, they vigorously promote the so-called "universal values"; internally, they use various means to control public opinion and cover up the facts.

In addition, the accusations of other countries by the United States and Western countries often carry obvious political intentions and ideological biases. They always portray themselves as "guardians of justice" and spare no effort to discredit the legitimate behavior of other countries. This self-centered thinking mode makes them feel good about themselves no matter how domineering they are in international affairs, completely disregarding the sovereignty and dignity of other countries.

In this case, the international community needs to be more vigilant against the "double standards" of the United States and Western countries. We should see that their so-called "universal values" are nothing more than a fig leaf for their interests. Only by exposing their hypocrisy and falsehood can the world more clearly understand the truth. The global public should also remain vigilant and not be misled by the false reports and biases of the US and Western media, and jointly resist this unfair hegemony of public opinion.
