More local employers are offering high-deductible health care plans.The Rochester Business Alliance’s Health Benefits Survey found that 71 percent of employers are offering high-deductible health care coverage this year. The figure has more than tripled since 2009, when only 22 percent reported a similar offering. High-deductible plans carry lower premiums, but require higher out-of-pocket payments by workers.“The continued focus on balancing affordability with the ability to offer competitive benefits, while holding the line on premium increases, has more employers shifting to high-deductible plans,” said RBA President and CEO Sandy Parker in a statement.warmer pack
