#Day 14 hospitalization

#Day 11 under intubation control

All of sudden, my nurse waked me up late at night and (she) said,

"I'm very sorry to bother you late at night, but we have an urgent patient and need an ICU bed, so Sumire, I'd like you to transfer to CCU from here(ICU)."

"what?" I was surprised.

I had no authority because I was connected to a ventilator so I couldn't even speak.

I thought I was in the serious condition but a more serious patient would come.

A few minutes later, ten nurses appeared in the ICU due to emergency transportation.

For transportation, the oxygen cylinder mounted on the wall of the hospital room was switched to a portable oxygen cylinder.

Then a doctor in charge of moving the room appeared and said, "Please be assured that there is plenty of (portable) oxygen."

The nurse held me and moved me to another bed.

When you change your position, you'll feel like phlegm is moving inside your body and blocking your throat causing discomfort. You may know this if you've ever been put on a ventilator.

My doctor noticed that I had my throat blocked by phlegm.

He stopped the nurses who were trying to move me quickly and removed the phlegm, which was really helpful.

I felt scared to death because I was transferred to CCU at midnight.

I was connected to a portable oxygen cylinder and moved 200m in a corridor of the hospital.

Because the CCU was a small room with a window, I couuld see the sky.
I was happy about that.
