As we pass through this first month of 2007 many of you will be looking over the events of the past year. What will you see$%: Successes and achievements, or plans that went rather awry$%: And when you've had that look, what will you actually do with the information$%: Sigh at another year that has sped past too quickly and then start making your New Year's Resolutions, breaking them as quickly as you make them, or will you use what you have learnt as the gift that it is$%:
What can you learn from your experiences$%: If something didn't go quite as you wanted, what could you do in the future to make sure you don't get the same result$%: What can you take away from the things that worked$%: Can you repeat what you did$%: How can you improve on it to get an even better outcome$%: The information is there if you are only willing to use it!
What do you want to achieve this year$%: Make it BIG! Get excited! Make it happen. Don't choose to aim at something that doesn't fill you with a sense of hope and wonder and pleasure. If you are not enthusiastic about your goals you are not very likely to make them happen, are you$%: Plan it out, step by step and mark off every success. Celebrate your wins and use everything that doesn't quite work as a means to tweak and improve. Don't stop doing even the littlest bit towards your goals, every day, whatever happens. Persistence is the key. Sure, take time to look back, but then make sure your next steps are forwards.
