あの何とかとかいうやつ
ほら、あれあれ、あれに使うあれよ!・・・なんだっけ?

"What you may call it"の省略です。

Example
Do you have a whatchamacallit? . . . A stapler?
あれ持っている、あれ、あの~ホッチキス?

This word is a placeholder word.
We use them when we forget a word or when we don't know a word.
We often hope our conversation partner will remind us!

英語にこういう言葉は沢山あります。
忘れている(それとも知らない)ものとか人の名前の代わりに使います。
話の相手が教えてくれるという願いも込められています。
