I just want to share this via Facebook with my ex-colleagues and friends around the globe, together with a little update on my recent Auckland life. :)
A few days ago, my wife started complaining about the inaccuracy of her weight shown on our bathroom scale. True -- it seemed the displayed figure varied by approximately 300g each time she got on the scale...
I thought 300g was a variance well within a reasonable tolerance, but according to my wife, that difference would be "a crucial, life-or-death matter" for most women!
After a long discussion, she finally persuaded me that we would buy a new scale and dump the old one, which has been used only for 2 months.
Here in New Zealand, it is typical that if you leave something still usable out on the kerb and someone will take it away in a very short while. Isn't it brilliant that Kiwi naturally put "MOTTAINAI" grass-root activity into practice!
So, I've just placed him outside our house with a little note to express my appreciation for his contribution until today.
I wish he will find a friendly new owner who doesn't bitch about trivial incorrectness!
OK, a bit more about myself.
Today, I sat for the term-end assessment on Microsoft SQL Server, and did fairly OK, I hope. We only have the final project left to be submitted before the first semester break around Easter holidays.
I can't believe nearly 4 months has already passed since we came to Auckland, and I am soon finishing one third of my diploma course. Time surely flies when you're having fun!
The final project is not supposed to be a big deal, so I'll try to update my blog as frequently as possible for the next 2, 3 weeks.
