「分詞構文」は「分詞を用いることによって接続詞が省略される」構文と説明されます。
a. Walking along the beach, I found a beautiful shell.
=While I was walking along the beach, I found a beautiful shell.
（浜辺を歩いている間に、わたししはきれいな貝殻を見つけた。）
b. Taking out a key from his bag, he opened the box.
= He took out a key from his bag, and opened the box.
(鍵を鞄から取り出し、そして彼は箱を開けた。）
c. Written in simple English, this book is easy to understand.
= Since this book is written in simple English, it is easy to understand.
( この本は簡単な英語で書かれているので、理解しやすい。）
d. Seen from the sky, the island looked like an egg.
= When the island is seen from the sky, the island looked like an egg.
（空から見た場合、その島は卵のように見えた。）
と、接続詞を用いた書き換えの練習をするのが一般的ですが、そもそも分詞構文は接続詞の省略を意識して使われるものでしょうか？以下のようにあっさり説明してはどうでしょうか？
...ingと過去分詞は、単独の副詞と同じように動詞部分の説明をする
e. Luckily, I found a beautiful shell.
（運良く、私はきれいな貝殻を見つけた。）
Walking along the beach, I found a beautiful shell.
（浜辺を歩いていて、私はきれいな貝殻を見つけた。）
f. Slowly, he opened the box.
(ゆっくりと、彼は箱を開けた。）
Taking out a key from his bag, he opened the box.
(鍵を鞄から取り出して、彼は箱を開けた。）
g. Certainly, the book is easy to understand.
(確かに、この本は理解しやすい。）
Written in simple English, this book is easy to understand.
( 簡単な英語で書かれていて、この本は理解しやすい。）
h. Interestingly, the island looked like an egg.
( 面白いことに、その島は卵のように見えた。）
Seen from the sky, the island looked like an egg.
( 空から見ると、その島は卵のように見えた。）
と、副詞を用いた同じ用法の例文と並列して、「副詞と同じように動詞の部分に説明を加える」とすればそこまででよいのでは、？
while, and, since, when と省略されているとされる接続詞をわざわざ考えなくても、動詞の部分との関係を考えれば、意味は自ずと分かります。
そして何より、こう考えた方が｢分詞構文」を使っているnative speaker の意識には近いでしょう。わざわざ特定の｢接続詞」を使わないと意識して分詞構文を使っている訳ではありません。｢言ってない」ことは｢言ってない」のですから。
繰り返し書いているように「文法」の確実な理解、定着は大切です。それだけに、できるだけ簡潔な説明をめざすべきではないでしょうか？
...ing, 過去分詞が｢動詞」ではなく｢形容詞」｢副詞」であることの理解は、いわゆる｢分詞構文」を｢分詞構文」という用語を使わずsimpleに理解するためにも重要です。
