前回宣伝したオンラインベークセールに参加してくださった方、本当にありがとうございました！
大成功に終わったようで、$8000以上（正確な金額はわかりませんが。。。）の募金が集まりました
私のフルーツケーキも$32で買ってくださった方がいました。
まったくプロフェッショナルからは遠く、他のブロガーさんに比べても特徴の無いケーキなのに、お金を出して下さった方がいるというのは本当にうれしいです。
実際に包装し郵送する段階になって、自分の作ったものにお金を払ってもらうということの重みを実感しました。
もちろん今回は募金が目的ですが、この包装でいいかなぁ、味は気に入ってもらえるかなぁ、届くまでにいたんだりしないかなぁなどと、心配ごとが山ほど出てきてしまうものですね。
自分の作品を売るという仕事を日々されてる方のことを考えると頭が下がります。。
とりあえずは無事終了して一安心。集まったお金が被災者の方のお役にたってくれることをただただ祈るのみです。
そして話題は変わり、先週末、初めてフロリダ州、マイアミに行ってきました！！
今回は完全な旅行ではなく、アメリカ栄養士会の下にあるサブグループのミーティングが目的でした。
１年ほど前から勉強のためにと思いそのサブグループに参加していたんですが、今年からたまたま秘書という役割をさせていただくことになったんです。
といっても任期が始まるの今年の６月。今回のミーティングはそのグループでどんな活動をしようとしているのか現状把握で終了しました。
そして、せっかくマイアミに来たので少しは観光しないと！
ビーチに立ち寄ってみたり（海で遊ぶ時間はありませんでした～
）、キューバ料理に舌鼓をうってみたり、ウインドーショッピングをしてみたり、そんな日曜日を過ごして帰ってきました。
フロリダは初めてでしたが、カリフォルニアとはまったく違った雰囲気。気候は日本の夏と似てますね。
暑くてむしむし。
やはり暖かい場所だからか、人はなんだか解放的（笑）
ビーチ沿いには無数のバーやレストランが並んでいて、みんな朝からパーティーです。
海でのスポーツが好きな人には理想の場所でしょうね～。

*プランテインとはバナナの一種で生で食べるよりも料理に使われるもの。甘酸っぱくてこのフライは病みつきでした！！

Thank you so much for people who participated Online Bake Sale which I advertised last time!
It was a huge success and we raised over $8000 (I don't know the exact number, though)!!
I also really appreciate that someone bought my cake for $32!! I am far from professional baker's level and my cake was not so special compairing other blogger's baked goods. Now I am praying for the money will be used wisely for people suffering in Japan at this point.....
By the way, when I was preparing to send my cake to the person, I suddenly felt this is a big thing. I mean, someone spent their money for the cake I baked. I started worry about the packaging, presentation, taste and the quality of the cake by the time the person receive. I admire poeple who does this all the time!!
OK, let's move on to different topic today. I actually went to Miami, FL last weekend!!
The purpose was business meeting (of course including fun 
). Under ADA (American Dietetic Association), there are several sub groups. I joined one of the group, which is called "Medical Nutrition Practice Group" and happen to be elected for secretary position. The term will start from June 2010, so this time, I just focused on learning what is going on in the group.
Although this was business trip, I cannot miss the opportunity of enjoying Miami!!
I visited Miami Beach (unfortunately, not enough time to enjoy the sea), tasted Cuban food and window shopping. That was a wonderful Sunday at Miami.
Miami is such a different place from California. I think the weather is similar to Japanese summer.
Hot and Humid!!
People over there is open and casual (due to the weather?) People was having party from the morning at endless of bar or retaurant by the beach. I imagine people who loves summer sports will enjoy Miami a lot!
