小豆島出身の作家、壷井栄の代表作である『二十四の瞳』の舞台となったのが、同島の苗羽小学校田浦分校。1954年には、その小説を原作とした映画が制作され、そのリメイク版が1987年に小豆島で撮影された。その折のセットが今も保存されており、映画村となって一般公開されている。2019年に小豆島を訪れた際、小生は滞在二日目の11月6日に、前回紹介した寒霞渓の次に探訪した。加えて、少し離れているも、歩いて行ける場所には、1902年に建造された実際の田浦分校の校舎が現存しており、これも一般公開されているが、訪れる人は格段に少ないようである。同校は1971年に閉鎖されたが、内部は閉校当時のままで、半世紀前の児童が描いた絵などが残っている。（Trip to Shoudoshima Is. in 2019 [Part 5] Filming Location of Famous Movie & School Featured in Its Original Story: Shoudoshima Island is home of Tsuboi Sakae, a writer known for her best-selling work "NIJUUSHI NO HITOMI" [lit., "24 eyes"]--a story of a teacher and her 12 children at a school in the island. Production of a movie based on this story took place in 1954. and its re-make version was filmed on the island in 1987. Visitors can see actual buildings and facilities used during the filming of the latter at a theme-park like location named "movie village." It was the second destination of my tour on November 6--the second day of my stay on the island back in 2019--after my visit to Kanka Valley as featured in the previous post. In a little long--but still walkable--distance from the village is an actual school of the original story. The school building--constructed in 1902--is still there and open to the public, but it seems to attract a much smaller number of visitors compared with the movie village. The school itself ended its history in 1971, but it retains the outlook at the time of its closure--one can see paintings by children half a century ago.）
2019年11月6日、小豆島滞在二日目の二番目の探訪地が、
二十四の瞳映画村。
本当に”村”といった感じです。
秋のうららかな陽の下で、コスモスが咲き乱れていました。
校舎のセット。
昔の木造校舎の雰囲気たっぷりでした。
古びた感じの机と椅子。
窓の外には瀬戸内海の風光明媚な景色が。
銅像も建てられていました。

地元、内海町の指定文化財となっている、明治35（1902）年建築の校舎。
映画のセットも、この校舎に倣って作られたようです。
