五年前、2019年11月に訪れた小豆島での滞在二日目、十一月六日にまず訪れたのは、小豆島随一の景勝地と誰もが認める寒霞渓。秋晴れの空の下、麓からロープウェイで山頂へ。紅葉には少し早かったが、奇岩・絶壁を眺めつつの空中散歩。到着した山頂からは、瀬戸内海の雄大な景色を眺めることができた。性分として、往路と同じルートで戻ることが嫌いな小生は、帰りは歩いて下山することに。森の茂みの合間から時々見える絶壁や、下山路の所々に散見される奇岩を鑑賞しながら、麓まで歩き通した。（Trip to Shoudoshima Is. in 2019 [Part 4] Kanka Valley: On November 6, 2019--the second day of my stay in Shoudoshima Island--the first destination of the day was Kanka Valley [lit., "valley of cold mist"], which everyone recognizes as the most scenic spot on the island. Under a fine autumn sky, I got on a ropeway car to climb to the summit area. Season of autumn leaves was yet to come. Still, I could enjoy watching unique formations and cliffs of the valley during this short ride. Once at the summit area, I could see grandiose scene of the Inland Sea. Since I tend to feel inclined to take a different route for return trip, I decided to walk to the foot of the mountain. During the walk through to the ropeway station, I could occasionally see unique formations in distance through the woods and some uniquely shaped rocks along the trail.）
五年前、2019年11月6日に訪れた寒霞渓。
麓のロープウェー駅。
登りだけ利用したロープウェーから見た、
絶景の数々、
紅葉にはまだ少し早かったですが、
息を呑む美しさでした。
剥き出しの岩肌と、
色づき始めた木々のコントラストが、
真に絶妙。
あっという間の空中散歩。
山頂からの眺め。
瀬戸内海の雄大な景色が広がる。
帰りは、歩いて下山。
森の木々の間から、
時々、岩場が垣間見えます。
これは「層雲壇」と呼ばれる地形。
登山道の傍らに時々転がっている奇岩。これには「画帖石」という名が付いています。
これは「錦屏風」と呼ばれています。
出発点に戻ってきました。
