2019年11月に小豆島を旅した折の初日(11月5日)、締め括りに訪れたのが土庄からバスで10分ほどの風光明媚な海岸。中でも有名なのが、エンジェルロードと呼ばれる地で、一日に二度、干潮時に対岸の島まで砂州が現れる。その時、大切な人と手をつないで砂の道を渡ると、願いが叶うと言われている。残念ながら、小生が訪れた時は潮が満ちていて、エンジェルロードを見ることはできなかったが、近くにある展望台からは、夕日が沈む美しい海岸線を望むことができた。この地は、幾つかの映画のロケ地にもなっている。（Trip to Shoudoshima Is. [3] Angel Road: When I made a trip to Shoudoshima Island in Japan's Inland Sea back in November 2019, I concluded my tour on the first day--November 5--with a visit to a scenic sea coast, which one can access by a 10-minute bus ride from Tonosho Port. The most famous location in the area is the one known as "Angel Road"--a shoal that appears twice a day at the time of low tide and connects the coast with a nearby island. According to a legend, if one makes a wish while walking on the shoal to the island hand in hand with someone dear to him/her, that wish will come true. Regrettably, I was unable to see that shoal because it was the time of high tide. Still, I could enjoy seeing beautiful coastlines at the time of sunset at an observation point nearby. This was a filming location of some movies in the past.)
