柏紀行（２）香取神社：昨年十月五日に訪れた千葉県柏市。一番見たかったのは、以前のポストで触れた帝国陸軍の飛行場跡に残る営門と僅かに残る掩体壕であったが、それ以外にも見所はある。その一つが香取神社であろう。説明版に拠れば、創建は五百年ぐらい前とのこと。現在の社殿は嘉永五年建立だが、境内に残る鳥居や石碑の中には、それよりも古い年代が刻まれているものが散見される。（I visited the city of Kashiwa in Chiba Prefecture on October 5 last year. As featured in one of the previous posts, the foremost objective in this short trip was to see some relics of airfield maintained by the Imperial Japanese Army before and during World War II; e.g., what used to be gate pillars of the airfield's entrance and embankments for concealing planes. In addition, I came across with some other historical assets worth visiting. One of them is Katori Shrine. According to its information board, its origin dates back to the 16th century. Construction date of the main shrine building one can see today was 1852, but a shrine gate and some stone monuments are engraved with even older dates.）

境内は木立の中に。
狛犬は、
明治三（1870）年。
手水鉢はもっと古くて、
文化六（1809）年。
鳥居は更に古く、
寛政六（1794）年
もっと古い天明八（1788 ）年の石碑。「疱瘡守護」とあるので、疫病蔓延防止を願ったものでしょう。
正徳四（1714）年の年号が刻まれた石仏。
こちらは比較的新しいもので、どうやら第一次大戦の戦勝を記念したもの。
閑静な境内です。
