いなせ系暁会活頗組：「いなせ」とは元々、江戸の魚河岸で男衆の間で流行った髪型が由来であったという。ボラの若魚であるイナの背びれに似た髪型を指し、転じて、そのような男衆の勇気・心意気の良さを指す言葉となったようである。その「いなせ」で始まるチーム名とは裏腹に、女性の踊り子も（若しくは、女性の踊り子の方が）観衆の目を惹くかもしれない。劇場型と呼んでもいい、毎年分かり易いテーマの演舞を披露する。今年のテーマは「ボリウッド・ショー」で、ボリウッドとは、インドのムンバイを拠点とするインドの映画産業を指す言葉で、ハリウッドとムンバイのかつての名称である「ボンベイ」を組み合わせたもの。矢張り女性の踊り子の優雅な衣装が目を惹きます。画像は、二か月以上前の千歳のスカイ・ビア＆YOSAKOI二日目、七月十六日の演舞の模様。（INASE-KEI AKATSUKI-KAI KAPPA-GUMI: INASE originally refers to a hair style popular among men working at fishery market in Edo--today's Tokyo--during the Tokugawa Period [1600-1868]. That hair style resembled the back [SE] wing of a fish named INA. The resulting combonation--INASE--later came to mean manly and straigh forward character of such men. Although this team's name begins with this word, one can see quite a few women in this team. Actually, they attract the attention of the audience as much as--or more than--male dancers. Every year they dance to a theme easy to understand for the audience. Their performance this year is entitled "Bollywood Show." "Bollywood" refers to Hindi film industry based in Mumbai, which used to be called "Bombay." Thus, it is a compound of a part of these two words, Hollywood and Bombay. Elegant outfit of female dancers is quite impressive. Posted here are some snapshots of their performance at an event in Chitose on July 16 this year. *Note: KEI of INASE-KEI roughtly means "school" or "group." AKATSUKI-KAI is a compound of AKATSUKI [daybreak] KAI [association, society]. As for KAPPA--spelled 活頗 for the team name--it could mean "very active." Yet, upon hearing this sound [KAPPA], most native Japanese speakers think of a homonym spelled 河童--a legendary monster believed to reside in rivers and commit mischievous--or sometimes malicious--conducts against humans.)
