ウィルモット『大いなる聖戦・第二次世界大戦全史』（国書刊行会）訳出過程での見出しの誤訳例の分析も終りに近づいてきている。
今回は、
Final Defeat of Japan
という見出しを取り上げる。
「日本の最終的敗北」とでも訳すのが普通であろうが、これが一定部分を包括する見出しであることを鑑みれば、いつもの如く、そこで何が語られているかを概観する必要がある。
