因为从一些时空穿梭事件看，我们遇到了一些维度，是一个静止的维度，人类进入这个时空维度后，时间静止，可是到了未来的某个时候，这些人从这个时空维度返回现实，可是对他们来说，只是一瞬间。这样的事情，让我们看到了，不同维度的存在。但是，这个维度不一定是灵界。
所以，灵界和维度有相似之处，也有不同的地方。
维度的概念，总是高的维度包含低的维度。从高的维度能够看到低的维度的所有内容，相反则不行。比如我们现在的宇宙是一个四维时空，三维空间加上一个一维的时间。但是，如果我们到了五维时空，这个时候，我们就可以看清楚整个四维时空的一切，历史现在未来都可以看到。但是，事实上是不是这样，还没有任何证明，或者有现象指明了这些。这些只出现在科幻电影的描述中。而灵界，从历史到现在，都有关于灵界的故事事实。神和佛的故事很多。
想一想，我们的意识，在白天存在，在睡觉的时候消失，早上醒来又出现了。这个界限是什么？睡觉的本质又是什么？我们以为死亡之后，意识消失，可是事实上，意识没有消失，到了灵界，永恒存在。而我们的现实世界难以知道，只有通过类似史威登堡的人才能知道一些。现在我们也有了手指识字来了解灵界。
这个过程中始终有一个灵魂存在，那么睡觉的时候，灵魂是如何的状态？入定的时候，身体睡着了，可是我们还醒着，这是什么灵魂状态？
这些问题的存在，可能意味着，人类还需要更久的时间，才能在这个领域活跃起来。
