6 people showed up this week and participated in our discussion about random words. It all started when someone asked about alternative ways to describe people. Many know about using the term “vertically challenged” to describe short people, but would a fat person be “horizontally challenged” or horizontally gifted”? Could calling someone skinny or thin be considered an insult? We discussed many terms such as these and learned some new ones like “cougar”, “chubby-chaser”, and “herbivore/carnivore”, with some talk about acronyms and internet abbreviations thrown in for good measure.
Next week, we’ll be discussing convictions/beliefs and how different cultures handle the strongly opinionated.
