Do you know you have your privilege?
"privilege"
I had never studied of it before I came to the States.
It means "特権" in Japanese.
Do you know we have privilege for every days life?
As long as you are a Japanese and you live in Japan, you have privilege.
As long as you are a man, you have privilege in the society.
Today, in my African America family class, we talked about it.
what is the privilege?
Tom wise, he is the one of the famous activist, said
''If you do not have to worry about what other think about you'
it means you have privilege.
If you do something wrong, other might think
"do you really belong to here? are you sure about it?"
yes, if you do not have privilege, you wond think the way.
Since I am not in Japan and being part of another sociery structure,
I could say I do not have privilege which I could have in Japan.
It is hard, challenge, sometime even painful, but you know what,
I have Japan as a country which I could have my privilege perfectly.
It is totally different from someone who does not have privilege anywhere.
It stuck on my head today in my class
what is my privilege?
Also, just like Tom wise said,
are you brave enough to lose your privilege for making the society equal?
Are you?
