They say Hashimoto addressed on his way of support campaign of upper house election on Okinawa, as below,
「レイプを止めるために、沖縄の女性が一生懸命になってやってくださった。感謝の念を表す」
"I truely appreciate the efforts what women in Okinawa had ever contributed to us, for the sake of preventing US soldiers from raping Japanese women."
of course he's not thanking for their "ordinary efforts" but sexual services which provided in his recognization.
