People say that a child’s success is dependent on the way parents bring them up.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Write at least 250 words.

For a lot of people, success is attained through a combination of intelligence, skills and the relationship of a person with those around him. Some say that child’s success in influenced by how his parents brought him up. I definitely think that there is a truth to this statement and this essay will discuss my opinion in detail.

The environment in which a person grows in contributes a lot to his mental, emotional and psychological health. If a child grows up in a troubled household, he may find it harder to study and focus on the things he needs to do. In short, a healthy environment is needed for a child to grow up well – one where he can feel his parents nurture his potentials.

Parents easily influence their kids especially from a young age. Children look up to their parents as role models in life and often strive to be just like them. A lot of children really do take after their parents. Therefore, if they see that their parents are successful, they would do what they can to be like that as well when they grow up.

Children can get inspiration from their parents when they motivate offspring to do their best in anything. A person definitely needs a strong support system behind him in whatever he does, and the family is the perfect source for it. When he sees that his parents always cheer him on, he can have the drive to succeed further in life.

In conclusion, a person’s success is greatly dependent on his parents and the way they raised him. The factors of success that I have enumerated earlier are all influenced by the environment in which a person grows in, the parents’ influence and the amount of support they give their children. Definitely, a person should in part owe his success to this parents.
