テッサロニキの白い塔・Thessaloniki's white tower

ギリシャ２日目。
Day 2 in Greece.
昼ぐらいに起きて、ヤニス・ファミリー達とアパートのテラスで
Waking up around lunchtime, we ate our lunch (bread, cheese, Greek salad
昼ご飯（パン、チーズ、ギリシャサラダとホムスみたいにチックピーズを
and a Greek homemade recipe which they mash up a bowl of chick peas like houmous
すり潰して焼いたギリシャの料理）を食べ
and bake it in the oven) with Ginannis and his family at his terrance.
ヤニスさんが仕事に出かけると同時に僕ら＋ヤニス奥さん＆娘さんも外に出て
When Ginannis went out to work, we + Ginannis's wife and their daughter went out
テッサロニキ代表のホワイトタワー（白い塔）という場所に目指した。
at the same time and headed to The White Tower that representsThessaoniki'.

ホワイトタワーがあるテッサロニキ中心街に着いたのが夕方頃。
We arrived at the White tower around late afternoon that is
situated in the center of Thessaloniki.
ちょうどいい時間だ。朝昼よりはそれほど暑くない。海からの潮風も体に当たって気持ちいい。
It's a good time to be here. It's not that hot than in the morning or lunchtime and feels cool when the sea wind blows and hits your body.



テッサロニキ代表のホワイトタワー。
The White tower that represents Thessaloniki.



ホワイトタワーと言う名前を付けられるほど白い塔なのか？と思いきや
I thought that maybe the white tower is named after how white the tower is
イギリスの塔とあまり変わらない。ヨーロッパの塔はどれも似ている。ちょっと凹んだ。
but theres not much difference between the towers in England. The towers in Europe
are similar to each other. I wasn't surprised but a bit disappointed.



OJISAN:「こら！ペガサス！なにしてんだ！！」とビジッとツッコミを入れる。
Middle aged man: "Oi! Pegasus! What are you doing!!"

馬：「絵になる風景と言われたいうま。」
Horse: "I want to be told that I look good with the landscape behind..neigh"

OJISAN:「！？」
Middle aged man: "!?"

夏バテのせいか、勝手な想像をいつの間にかしていたうま。
Maybe because of the heat, I've started to imagine things without realising.

テッサロニキに着いて・Arriving at Thessaloniki

母親と弟（１３歳）と妹（１０歳）と旅にて、
Going on holiday with my mum, my brother (13 years old) and my sister (10 years old),


ロンドンのヒースローターミナル１空港から１７時半辺りにLufthansa航空機に乗って
We got our flight with Lufthansa around 17:30pm from London Heathrow terminal 1 airport
Frankfurt空港で乗り換えし、ギリシャのテッサロニキ空港に夜の２２時辺りに到着する。
and transferred from Frankfurt airport, arriving at Thessaloniki airport
in Greece around 10pm in the night time.
みんな僕たちの事を見ている。日本人がいるのがそんなに珍しいのか？いや、そうじゃない。
Everyones looking at us. Is it that strange seeing Japanese people?
No, maybe thats not the reason why they're looking at us.
よくよく考えると人種の問題より、僕の髪型に問題があるんだと思った。
I think its something to do with my hairstyle, rather than a racial problem
(not saying that they are racist or anything although it similar means in that way)

そう、僕はここに来る前に、美容師のフラットメイトが働いている最近新しくオープンした
In fact, before I came here, I voluntarily became a haircut model for a photo shoot for
サロンでフォトシュート作品のためにヘアモデルになり紫と緑染めの民族的なベリーショートな
my flatmate's portfolio (who's a hair stylist) at his friend's (or shall I say Boss? haha)
ユニークな髪型に（全ておまかせ。僕は実験台のネズミです）刈られたのだ。
hair salon in which, if I were to briefly describe my hair.. I have purple and green highlights
on the front with a very short tribal hair style having 4 shaved lines on my side hair, creating a unique hair style (Everything's all been thought out from my flatmate. I'm like an experimental rat haha)

このような髪型は好き嫌いにハッキリと分かれる感じがして
I felt that this kind of hairstyle clearly divides into people who love or hate it.
かっこいいね！いいね！おもしろいね！と良い印象を与える人と
People who gets a good impression about this hairstyle, say its cool! nice! funny!
え、怖い・・、絡まれるよ？、ヤンキーみたい笑　と悪い印象を与える人に出くわしたりして、
And some who has a bad impression about this hair style say things, erm, thats scary.., someone might pick a fight on you? you look like a pimp lol
母親にも悪い印象を与えて、久しぶりに息子との再会（？）でショックだったそうだ。
It gave a bad impression to my mum and she was quite shocked when we haven't met each other for a long time.

って話が逸れちゃってどうする。
Why did I change the topic.
また旅の続きに戻します。
I'll go back where I left off and continue telling about the trip..

空港に着いたら、ヤニスさん（母親のギリシャ音楽関係の友だち）が車で迎いに来てくれ、
When we arrived at the airport, Giannis (My mums Greek music related friend)
came to pick us up with his car,
その人の自宅で泊めさせてもらった。回りにはフラット（アパート）がほとんどで
and let us stay over at his flat. There are many flats around his his place
テッサロニキの港まで歩いて５分。彼はギリシャの映画監督で、奥さんは音楽家。
and its only a 5min walk to the Thessaloniki's port. Giannis is a Greek film director and
his wife is a musician.
５歳の娘さんがいる。奥さんは夕飯を作って僕らが着くのを待っていました。
They have a 5 year old daughter and his wife cooked us dinner and waited for us to arrive.
ギリシャの家庭の料理はさっぱりして美味しい。
Greek homemade foods are fresh and delicious.
その日はヤニスさんと彼が作った自家製ラキ酒（ギリシャのお酒）
I drank his handmade Raki (Greek alcohol) while talking with Giannis for a bit
を飲みながら少し話して疲れていたから早めに寝た。
and went to bed quite fast because I was tired.

　

お久しぶりです・Long time no see

去年の１０？１１月に買ったWarwick Corvett 4 string ベース。
Bought this Warwick Corvett 4 string bass last year around October or November.
音が美しい。羽衣に包み込まれているような優しい音を出す。
The sound is beautiful and it has a soft warm tone,
that feels as if your wrapped in a soft cloth.


先月、ダンスの仲間と挑戦したロンドン店（Red Dog Saloon）にあるチャレンジメニュー
Last month, me and my Dance friends went to eat at a Restaurant in London (Red Dog Saloon)
ordering the challenge menu named as 「The Devastator challenge」
「The Devastator challenge」に挑戦！
ー　３x６oz パティー、２００g豚肉、６枚のアップルウッド・スモークベーコン、
　　６枚のアメリカンチーズスライス　＋　ポテトチップス大盛り　＋　800mlぐらい？の
　　ミルクシェイク・・・を１０分で完食せよ・・というチャレンジでした・・汗
- It contains, 3 x 6 oz patties, 200g of pulled pork, 6 rashers of applewood smoked bacon,
and 6 slices of American cheese + a bowl of chips and approx. 800ml of milkshake
...which we had to finish in 10min.
　　


お久しぶりです。
Long time no see.

How have you guys been?
月曜日から１０日間（２２日－３１日）まで
I'll be off to Greece from this Monday for 10 days (22nd - 31st)
ギリシャに旅行するっということでブログを再開します。
and so I decided to update my blog again.
大学の２年目も終わり、英語を生徒に教えながら夏に突入しました。
I just finished my second year of university while teaching English
to all kinds of students, and now we're in summer.
いやー・・夏だ。暑いですね。たくさん睡眠を取っても、まだ眠たいです　笑　
So... its summer... and its hot (duh). However much I sleep, I'm always sleepy haha.

去年の夏に東南アジアの旅行を終わり、ロンドンに帰国後から現在に至る話を書くのは
I might aswell just sum everything up more simply, about the things that had happened
since I came back from South East Asia until now.. because its long and tiring
長いし、読者の皆さんも途中で眠ってしまう・途中で諦めてしまうかもしれないので・・
to write and also you guys might fall asleep or give up reading it, half way into the story..
簡単にまとめます(^_^;)


去年の９月下旬から大学２年目が始まり、英語を教えながら貯金したお金で
I started my second year of uni (university) in the end of last September
以前から欲しかったベースを買い、毎回弾くときに
and I bought a new bass guitar that I always wanted, using
the money I saved while teaching English.
新しい事を発見しながら練習しています。
I've been learning and finding new things every time I practice and play my bass guitar.

ブレイクダンスは東南アジアで左ひざを強打したため
As I injured my left knee badly in SE Asia,
ドクターストップで８ヶ月間やってはいけないと言われ、
The doctors told me to stop doing breakdance for 8 month,
リハビリのために軽くジョギングをし、ちょうど８ヶ月間になったところで
and so I could only do light jogs as my rehab, but as its been just over 8month,
なぜかムエタイを始めました　笑
instead of going back into breakdance, I decided to start Muai Thai haha.

この１年弱の間は様々な人達に出会い、
I have met various kinds of people in just under 1 year
その中で、お互いを支えながら一緒に成長できる大切な人にも出会いました。
and have found someone important who we both can support each other
and become better together.

色々と家庭や大学勉強、資格取り、仕事にデザイン会社のためのポートフォリオ作りと
Been quite busy with many things such as family issues, university work, getting different
ベースで忙しいですが、規則正しい生活を送るようにしてます。
kinds of certificates, Teaching English, Building up my portfolio in order to present to Design
companies and playing my bass.. but I'm trying to keep a healthy balanced life.

それではギリシャの旅日記、ほんの１０日間ですが
I'm only going to spend 10 days in Greece but
