今日はシェムリアップ、ていうか東南アジアにいる最後の日なんだぜ！！ Todays the last day Siem Reap, the final day of staying in South East Asia! まだ食べたことがないワニバーカーを食らうぜ！！ I'm going off to eat the crocodile burger which I've never ate before!
外身が固くてモチモチした豆腐を食べているような食感だぜ！ The outer core of the burger is hard but its soft and chewy like tofu in the inside! 味はチキン！ワニだからしょうがないぜ！！ It tastes like chicken although I'm eating a crocodile!
と、ワニバーガーを食らいつくし、 And after I ate the crocodile burger, シェムリアップをちょっと回って、カンボジア・マッサージをして I went around Siem Reap for a bit, had another Cambodian massage 泊まっている宿に戻って空港に行く支度をする。 and headed back to the guesthouse I was staying to pack my stuff to go to the airport.
そしてたまたま宿で出会った日本人バックパッカーが同じ Then I was surprised when I met this Japanese backpacker at the guesthouse ロンドンの補習校（毎週土曜日にある日本人学校）出身だと知ってビックリ 笑 who went to the same London Hoshuko (Saturday Japanese school) as me.
バックパックの支度も終えて、ドイツ人カップルに別れを告げて After finishing packing by backpack and saying goodbye to the German couple, 宿の前で空港行きのバスが迎えにくるのを待った。 I went outside the guesthouse and waited for the bus which was going to take me to the airport.

しばらく立った。おかしいなと思い、空港バスを予約した宿の受付の人と話した。 I stood for as while. But I thought somethings wrong so I went back to the guesthouse to discuss with the receptionist who I booked for the bus to come. 「バスがここに来るなんて知りませんよ。」 "I haven't heard that the bus will come here" 「え！？朝にちゃんと空港行きのバスを予約したじゃん！覚えてないの？」 "What are you talking about? I booked the airport bus in the morning! Don't you remember it?" 「そんなの覚えていません。あなたが悪いんです。さあ迷惑なんであっち行ってください」 "I don't remember it. It's your fault. So please go somewhere as your interrupting our business" 「は？あんた何言ってんの？？」 "What do you mean its your fault? I don't even get what your saying" 「そんなに空港に行きたいんなら空港行きのバスを今から予約するのでお支払いをお願いします」 "if you really want to go to the airport then I will book the bus now so please pay" 「ちょw 朝に予約したときには空港行きバスは宿サービスで無料ですって言ったくせに！」 "hang on lol you told me when I booked in the morning before that the airport bus is for free if your staying at this guesthouse!" 「そんなに空港に行きたいんならそこまで歩いたらいいじゃないですか。 "If you really want to go to the airport then why don't you walk? So please go away, さあ迷惑なんであっち行ってください」 your interrupting our business. こいつと口ケンカしても時間の無駄なのはわかっていた。 At this point, I knew that theres no point arguing with him as its a waste of time. 「じゃあ空港まで歩くから行き方教えろよ」 "Ok, just tell me how to get to the airport by walking then" 「遠いですよ？知りませんよ？まずはこうやってこう行って・・次はこうで・・・・」 "Its going to be far away sir. I will not care what will happen to you but first of all, you should go like this..and then this..."
・・と子供でも描けるような地図を渡された。 and he gave me a map which he drew, which a kid can even draw without difficulty. 「ふざけんな。人をバカにして何が楽しい？」とイライラしながら宿の外に出歩いた。 I mumbled to myself "f*ck you. Why do you think its funny making someone annoyed?" while walking outside the guesthouse. すると、後ろから誰かが走ってきた。カンボジア人のジョンだ。 But then, someone came running towards me from behind. Its John, the Cambodian guy. 正直に言うと、ほんとは会いたくなかった。なぜかというと、 To be honest, I actually didn't want to see him. ジョンには申し訳ない気持ちでいっぱいなのだ。 I felt helpless of seeing him as I had sorrowful feelings to John. 「どうした？さっき宿の受付の人と言い合っていたのを見たぞ」とジョンが言った。 "What happened? I saw you arguing with the guesthouse receptionist" said John. 「・・・わかった。フライトは何時なんだ？まだ間に合うのか？」とジョンが続いた聞いた。 "...OK. What time is your flight? Will you still make it?" John continued to ask me. フライトは午後８時３０分。チェックインは午後８時。後１時間ある。 My flight was at 8:30pm. Check in at 8pm so I've got 1 hour.
僕はジョンに残り少ないドル札を見せた。 I then decided to show John the small amount of cash (dollar) I had with me. 「これぐらいしか持っていないけど、空港まで連れてってくれないか？」と言った。 "I've only got this, but can you take me to the airport?" I said. ジョンは黙って、しばらくすると口を開けた。 John didn't say anything for a moment, and then he opened his mouth. 「・・・お金は要らないから早くバイクの後ろに乗れ。空港に連れてやるよ」 "...I don't need your money so come and sit quickly on the backseat of my bike. I'll take you to the airport." 僕は固まった。そして何も言えなかった。 I froze. I just couldn't say anything.
バイクに乗って、ジョンがエンジンをかけてシェムリアップ空港まで送ってくれた。 I got on the bike and John turned the engine on so he can take me to Siem Reap airport. しばらくすると「ちょっと寄り道していいか？」とジョンが言って After a few minute ride, John says if he can stop somewhere for a bit. 僕は「いいよ」と返した。 I said ok. ジョンは知り合いがやっている屋台の前に止めた。 John stopped at his friends outside food stall. 「ほら、お腹空いてるんだろ？なんか食べようぜ。オレが払うから」 "come, your hungry right? Lets eat something. I'm going to pay for you" 「いやこれはオレがおごるよ」 "no its alright I'll pay for you" 「いいからオレが払うって」と、ジョンが僕に鴨肉とご飯にスープを渡してくれた。 "just eat. I'll pay" and John passed me a small plate of duck meat with rice and a bowl of soup.
夕飯を終わらして、再びバイクに乗って空港に向かっていると After eating our dinner, we got on the bike and continued heading to the airport 涙が目からこぼれ落ちてきた。そのときジョンの背中はたくましく、大きく見えた。 but tears started to trickle down from my eyes. At that moment, I saw how tough and big his back was. 僕はだんだん自分にイライラしてきた。 I gradually started to feel mad about myself. ジョンは僕に良いことをたくさんしてくれたのに John's done so many good things to me 僕は何一つ返すことができなかった。 and I have't had a chance to give back anything to him. ジョンを疑ってしまったことで、彼からの飲みや遊びの誘いを何回も断ったり、忘れたり I hated myself for been suspicious over him, as I refused and sometimes forgot when he invited me fora drink or just having fun. 約束を破ったりしてしまった。そんな自分が憎い。 I broke his promises and I just feel mad about myself. こんな素直な人に会ったのはいつ以来だろう。 It's been a while since I've met someone who has a pure spirit like him. なんでジョンを疑ったりしたんだろう。 Why did I even become suspicious about him.
僕はカンボジアに来て、たくさん学ぶことができた。 After coming to Cambodia, I've learnt many new things. ほんの数日だったけれど、それでも心の中に沁みる思い出になるだろう。 It's only been a few days but this will be a memory which will soak into my heart.
「一つ聞きたいことがある。 "I've got one question. なんでオレをバイクにタダで乗せてくれたんだ？」と運転してるジョンに聞いた。 Why did you decide to give me a free ride with your bike?" I asked John who was driving.
