IFNγ is a cytokine that's important for innate and adjustive immunity against infectious agent and animate thing microorganism infections and for growth management. IFNγ is a very important matter of macrophages. Aberrant IFNγ expression is related to variety of autoinflammatory and reaction diseases. The importance of IFNγ in the system stems partly from its ability to inhibit infectious agent replication directly, and most significantly from its immunostimulatory and immunomodulatory effects. IFNγ is created preponderantly by natural killer (NK) and natural killer T cells as a part of the innate immune reaction.

IFNγ is secreted by T helper cells, cytotoxic T cells and NK cells solely. however later studies showed that myeloid cells, nerve fiber cells and macrophages secrete IFNγ that's possible necessary for cell self activation throughout the onset of the infection.
