This week in the ESL 3 class at Scarsdale we started off by going over the homework, which looked at pluralization, sentence correction, and Halloween based word problems:

Then we looked at some new class material. First up was the grammar. This week we talked about antonyms, or opposites. After that, we learned about spiders and how they differ from insects in a Read! STOP! Think! Write! activity. Finally, to wrap up the class, we watched a video on the Day of the Dead, a holiday that is celebrated in Mexico and is quite popular in the United States as well. This holiday is about remembering and honoring loved ones who have passed away. After watching the video, the students worked on a crossword puzzle that used the same vocabulary words as in the video.

Next week will be our Halloween class!
