This week in the ESL 1 class, we continued to practice Beginning Sounds, but we also took a look at some Ending Sounds, which are equally as important, and can help with spelling. When looking at Beginning Sounds, the image of a flower was used, so we also took some time to learn the different parts of a flower and what they are called in English.

After that, we took some time to learn about a new Community Helper - Lifeguards. We did an activity where we circled and talked about pool safety in general, then we watched a video called, "I Want to Be a Lifeguard," where it talked about different items used by lifeguards, such as whistles and megaphones, among other things.

To wrap up the class we focused a bit on Halloween related activities. First we watched a short video on how to carve a pumpkin and turn it into a nice Jack-o-Lantern. After watching the video, we did a cut and paste sequence activity, and finished the class by doing a Halloween based word and image search online.
