The first English Book Club class of October is here! In this class we focused on the events in Chapter 8, while also reviewing the events in Chapter 7. First we started by going over the Information page, where the students wrote down what they learned about the Jellyfish Cave in the reading. Then we looked at the Cause and Effect page, where the students wrote what the effect was to the cause: "They were in the form of seals when they swam through the Jellyfish Cave."
After that, we took a look at the Chapter Eight Worksheet reading comprehension questions. Questions two and four had been a bit tricky for the students, so we took some time in class to locate the answers in the reading. Then, we learned some new vocabulary words. There will be a spelling quiz on them in next week's class. To wrap everything up, we went over the Story Analysis homework. Part A was putting the moments from Chapters 7 and 8 in the correct order and Part C was about checking some more comprehension with True or False.
