Today in the Chibi no Bi class we learned about a few different jobs. In the morning we focused on hairstylists/hairdressers.
The children learned a lot of hair related vocabulary words such as long, short, curly, straight, and wavy. They also learned some vocabulary specific to hairdressing - shears, comb, brush, hair-dryer, etc.
Through some video clips they learned how the hair cutting process works and saw how hairstylists dye hair. To brush up on their logic, visual, and critical thinking based skills they did a spot the difference activity for a picture involving hair clips. Then expressed some creativity by drawing their  own fun and colorful hairstyles.
In the afternoon class, we focused on two jobs: taxi drivers and pilots. So the children learned about various different types of taxis all over the world and the different modes of transportation that they come in (car, boat, bicycle, horse-drawn carriage, etc.).
They learned the basic science behind how an airplane files, did another spot the difference activity to build up their skills, and wrapped up the class by drawing their own taxis.
We read short stories from the book "Fluffy's Spring Vacation."

What jobs will we explore tomorrow?
