Today we start "Back to School" week for the Chibi-Midi class. To start off the Back to School theme, the children learned, sung, and even drew some school buses. In the United States, the school bus is the most common way to travel to and from school. So the children learned some of the "Wheels on the Bus" song. They also drew their own school buses, which were very unique and interesting.

Then the children learned about how children in other states and in many different parts of the world go to school through the book, "This is the Way We Go to School." They learned about how there are some people in America who walk to school, take the train, or even go by horse and buggy (carriage).

The people who go by horse and buggy are called Amish. They are a group of people in America who do not use technology, including cars.

The children also watched a short video clip on Venice, Italy and learned that many children in that city go to school by boat.

Tomorrow the children will continue to practice the "Wheels on the Bus Song" and we will learn a little about Classroom Pets. Take care!
