昨日午後セブ市Basak-San Nicolasバランガイで火災が発生し、38棟の住宅が全焼した。セブ市防災管理委員会によると54家族、249人が避難し、2人がけがを負った。セブ市消防署Jovito Abelgas氏によると、午後1時43分に警報を受け消火活動に向かったという。この火災は軽材料で建てられた住宅棟に火が燃え広がった。セブ市と周辺地すべての消防車に協力を求め、被害はおよそ50万ペソになるという。セブ市消防署が行った調査によると、Rosalie Greatさんの2階建て住宅から出火した。Jeffre Cortesさん（23歳）とPhilip Abellanosaさん（28歳）の2人が軽傷を負った。近所の住民は、Greatさんの孫の兄弟が出火前にケンカをしていたのを聞いたと調査員に話した。兄弟のどちらかが、屋内で灯油かガソリンをこぼし、それが出火の原因だとされている。いとこのAiza Debalocosさん（25歳）は、兄弟はよくけんかをしており、違法薬物を使用していたと証言した。

A FIRE destroyed 38 houses in Barangay Basak-San Nicolas, Cebu City yesterday afternoon. Two people were injured during the blaze that displaced 54 families or 249 persons in Sitios San Roque and Toong, according to the Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council. SFO4 Jovito Abelgas of Cebu City Fire Department said they received the alarm at 1:43 p.m. and controlled the flames after 20 minutes. The incident was raised to third alarm status when the fire spread to the cluster of houses made of light materials. All firetrucks in Cebu City and those of neighboring towns and cities were called to assist, the damaged is estimated to about 500 thousand pesos.Initial investigation conducted by the city fire department showed the fire started in the two-storey house of Rosalie Gerat.Two were injured,Jeffre Cortes, 23, and Philip Abellanosa, 28, sustained minor burns and injuries. Some neighbors told fire investigators that brothers Butch and Kevin Rosales, Great’s grandchildren, were quarreling before the incident. One of the two siblings allegedly poured something on the house and caused the fire. It was not determined if it was kerosene or gasoline. Aiza Debalocos, 25, said her cousins quarrel often. She added that the brothers allegedly use illegal drugs.
