Monday: Asia Markets Mixed
Exporters Toyota Motor and Sony early Tuesday helped Japan's Nikkei 225 Index lose 27.96, or 0.16%, to 17,264.43; the broader Topix Index gained 1.13, or 0.1%, to 1742.49. Japan's yen increased a second day against the dollar.
A day before, the Nikkei gained 0.8% to close at 17292.39, and Hong Kong's Hang Seng climbed 1.61% to 19442.42 aided by shares of China Mobile , which rose 1.3%, and Internet and media company Tom Group , which gained 5.4%.
On Tuesday, Singapore's Straits Times Index rose 0.18% to 3,188.45, and South Korea's Kospi Index dropped 0.46% to 1434.66.
Taiwan's Taiex was up 35.55, or 0.47%.
