高島平区民館大会
8月11日、ガンバレ☆プロレス高島平区民館大会を観に行って来ました！
元島仙多郎選手のエキシビションマッチを観て、感動して泣いちゃった。本当に素晴らしかった！
色々詳しく伝えたいことがあるけど、日本語能力がまだまだ足りないかもしれない。。。多分、練習不足しているから、本当の気持ちを表すのが難しい。ガンプロは感情的なことが多いですから、大好き！しかし、言葉がよく出てこない。。。
もし、もっと日本語で会話をしたら、上達出来るようになるかも。しかし、日本語で話す機会が少ない。週刊プロレスを読めるようになったから記事を翻訳するのがいいんだけど、もっともっと日本語で話したい。自分の気持ちを言い表したい。まだまだ自信がないけど、本当に上達したい！頑張るしかないね。

On August 11th, I went to see Ganbare☆Pro-Wrestling at Takashimadaira Community Centre!
GanPro is one of my favourite wrestling organisations to watch live. The essence of GanPro lives within the struggles to move forward, not giving up even when it all seems hopeless, the knowledge that nothing that is worth having in life comes easy, and the gradual progress towards the victory that makes everything seem worthwhile. A lot of this was embodied in the exhibition matches of Sentaro Motojima, who was hoping to prove himself worthy of making his debut at GanPro's Korakuen Hall show on August 26th. In the first exhibition match, Motojima, although obviously making a huge effort, seemed to fall short of expections, particularly in the eyes of Yumehito Imanari, who demanded he have a second exhibition match after the show. The second exhibition match showed the spirit of GanPro as a whole. As the match started, the rest of the GanPro roster gathered around the ring, shouting encouragement at Motojima, offering unwavering support even when he seemed to struggle. Although the time limit of the match was supposed to be only five minutes, the match continued for a little longer, until Imanari had seen enough. Imanari and Ken Ohka both talked to Motojima, telling him that wrestling can be scary, and there are often tough times, but encouraging him to keep going. Then, finally, Motojima's debut match was confirmed for the Korakuen Hall show. The kind of raw emotion that is expressed at GanPro shows, particularly the kind of emotion that resonates with the daily struggles of much of their audience, is difficult to find, and diffficult to create as part of the audience experience in wrestling. However, GanPro manages to create emotional stories like this while still feeling genuine. In a society where expressing powerful emotions is often seen as a weakness, and almost seen as taboo, GanPro shows us that another way is possible, that expressing your emotions can be a vital sign of strength, and being true to yourself.
Sentaro Motojima's exhibition matches alone would have been worth the price of admission, maybe even more, but the entire show was great from start to finish. The first exhibition match was followed by a battle between Nakamura and Kawakami, both of whom made their pro-wrestling debuts in GanPro, giving us a glimpse into a possible future for Motojima. Ken Ohka vs. Thanomsak Toba was a brutal and emotional match which led into a ten count gong tribute to Tomohiko Hashimoto, who they both worked with in their time in DDT. The excellent main event gave us a taste of what to expect at the upcoming Korakuen Hall show, which features Mizuki Watase's tenth anniversary match, seeing him face off against deathmatch legend and FREEDOMS member, Jun Kasai.
Frankly, everybody should be watching more GanPro.
