本当にSashaの作詞力って、(少し病んだ)若者の心を代弁するのに長けてますよね。この歌詞を簡潔にまとめるなら、「成長するにあたって、小さい頃夢見ていた現実の薄汚れた部分を見てしまい、希望を失った人の歌」といったところでしょうか😀😀🌚

Idiolatorのインタビューで、Sashaはこの歌についてこう話しています。
"I saw this little kid in a grocery store and I was like, “I wish I was eight years old during this [quarantine].” You’re young and you know things are bad, but you can’t understand how bad they are because you’re protected. So I wrote a song about missing that innocence. It’s called “Santa Is Real.” I just want to go back to that time when I didn’t know how shitty things were."
「スーパーで小さい子供を見て、こう思ったの、"この自粛期間、私も8歳だったらよかったのに" － 若いと物事が悪い状態だとはわかるけど、まだ守られて育っているが為に それがどれほど悪いことなのかわからないでしょう。だから、その無知な自分に戻りたいという歌を書いたんだ。題名は"Santa Is Real"。もう、物事がこんなに不公平だと知らなかったと気にただただ戻りたい。」
