🇪🇸 - La espectacular #escultura de las #Cerillas (Mistos en catalán) es obra del escultor sueco #ClaesOldenburg y su esposa también artista #CoosjeVanBruggen. La obra de Claes Oldenburg destaca por ser pionero del #PopArt, sus obras ejemplifican reproducciones a gran escala de objetos cotidianos que engalanan espacios públicos por todo el #mundo. La escultura de las Cerillas fue encargada por el gobierno de la ciudad y se inauguro en el año 1992 con motivo de las #olimpiadas de #Barcelona, esta situada frente al Pabellón de la #República, en el Vall d´hebron, lugar que sirvió de residencia olímpica, mas tarde las mismas viviendas formarían parte del barrio. La colosal obra presenta unos #colores muy llamativos, repartida en una gran área presenta cerillas de gran tamaño y formas, unas están caídas, dobladas, encendidas o consumidas, sin duda estos “mistos gigantes de #22 metros” no pasan desapercibidos. 🇬🇧 - The spectacular sculpture of the matches (#Mistos in #Catalan) is the work of the Swedish sculptor Claes Oldenburg and his wife also artist Coosje van Bruggen.
