ミシガン州に本拠地を置く家具の製造メーカーですが、北米のフラッグシップストアが、ニューヨークにあります。

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

ミッドセンチュリーのインテリアには欠かせないハーマンミラーの家具。

 

 

 

 

モダニズムを代表する家具デザイナーたちを数多く輩出し、ハーマンミラー社はミッドセンチュリーモダンの代名詞といえる家具メーカーとなりました。

 

 

 

 

なかでもチャールズ＆レイ・イームズ夫妻は、ハーマンミラー社と共同で家具デザインを始めたことにより、多くの傑作を生みだすことになります。

軍事技術のプライウッドの運用により、イームズが開発したプライウッドチェア。

Matthew Bremer, left, the founder of Architecture in Formation, and his partner, Shaun Skura, bought an 1823 church in Phillipsport, N.Y., and converted it into a private home.

 

Looking out the main entry doors from the foyer.

 

To create the main living space, they removed pews and added a suspended Fireorb fireplace. The Harvey Probber sectional sofa is vintage, the white lounge chairs are Eames Aluminum Group from Herman Miller (from $1,985) and the wall is decorated with framed tea towels by the artist David Shrigley ($45 each).
