湯西川温泉の平家の里も見て来ました。源平合戦に敗れた平家の落武者が追っ手を逃れた場所です。藁葺き屋根、当時の住居を再現した展示品を見ながら教科書で語られない、平家のその後、平家側から歴史を考えるいい機会でした。機会があれば一度見てください！車だったらざっと日光から1時間くらいでしょう。

We also visited Heike no sato in Yunishigawa Onsen, also in Tochigi.
This is where the fleeing Heike warrior settled after they lost Genpei War and survived.
It was a really good opportunity to think about the Heike after the war, and the history from Heike side, which the schools don't usually teach looking at the straw rooves and other displays.
