Finally, it seems like the autumn has arrived (touch wood).

Although it was spitting a bit outside, I had to take Kai out for a walk to tire him out (for my sake).

The park was completely empty due to the weather - but Kai didn't care, he was too busy "fishing."

He's got some leaves and was ready to catch some fish.

"Patience is the key, Mummy."

Kai's favourite spot in the living room:

With his beloved Lego.

He is getting really good at buidling robots and castles and stuff. Must be G's genes...

These days, I can just give Kai a ball and leave him alone (albeit for a short while).

As long as there is a basketball post.

Almost there!

This is Kai, talking to Nain and Taid in England the other night.

"Yeah, I know, I know."

"Oh, that's funny..."

He had a big old chat and still wanted to have some "more talk!"

You cannot really tell how big my belly has become from this picture, but...

IT IS REALLY BIG!

On a rainy day like today, we bake cookies.

Kai's favourite part of helping.

I find it disgusting, but he finds it wonderful.

Today, we used our new cookie-cutters - Winnie the pooh and Tiger.

One extremely happy kiddo.

No, you cannot have more than 2.

Today, we had a dentist appointment for both G and Kai. The dentist's office was across the street from the Tokyo Tower, so we had a bit of walk around the famous big tower before the checkup.

A very obvious photo.

We managed to find a nice little italian restaurant right across from the tower - the dishes were surprisingly all very good (considering the location). Here, Kai is going for a mouthful of icecream.

"Oh, that was delicious."

"More icecream, please!"

A very happy stuffed kiddo, still going for a bit of french bread.

I am worried that something must be wrong with his satietry center.

According to the dentist, Kai has "the perfect set of teeth" at the moment. He also told us that since there are enough gaps between the teeth, Kai won't need a dental makeover in future - a very good news to the parents!

Later that evening:

G and Kai making some porkchops.

Kai's job was to fill the meat with some basil/cheese stuffing.

A fake smile from the assistant.

Kai likes to perform cold water ablutions by the fountain at a near-by park.

First, get some water in a bucket.

"Here we go!"

"Done!"

I must have been comlaining quiet a bit about my exhaustion/bursting-with-energy Kai to my parents - since today we were blessed by their surprise visit - I could relax a bit (I could seriously use that unwinding time), while Kai had such a great time with his Japanese Grandpa Oji-chan.

Here, after playing Mummy (notice all these tapes on his face/body?), Kai is being an airplane (no, those are not my legs).

"Whirrrrr!"

He is just having too much fun.

One happy kiddo (and naturally, after they went home, Kai had a major tantrum...sigh) .

Aghhhh! It's just so seriously hot and humid.

We may have to consider moving to a different country just to escape Japan's dreadful summer climate - it's that bad (especially when you are double your normal size)!

So, what can we do when it's this hot and humid outside?

I feel like cheating to repeatedly put up the similar pictures over and over - but it seems like every weekend, we end up doing the exact same thing...

Boys making pizza dough. (no, seriously, those pictures were taken today, honest).

Kai is probably ready to open his own shop by now.

Making the dough into small balls...

The result and G's specialty - fig salad.

And of couse, the picture cannot be completed without a crying toddler.

He was whinging because...oh I don't know. Probably wanted to sit on G's chair...

And while we were having our lunch, we had a surprise present from Nain and Taid. Some books for Kai and tea for us! Thank you very much!

Here, a little reading session after lunch.

Immediately after, those boys were found passed out on the floor.

(Notice the postcard in Kai's hand?)
