We had one of those typical Japanese (or Tokyo?) winter days - chilly but very bright.

Obviously, Kai couldn't stand being kept inside anymore - after all, he hadn't played outside for more than a week due to the flu - he simply HAD TO go outside...

So here you go.

I was still feeling a bit weak and thought I could die on the way to the park (it was really cold and windy), but we got there safely...

Kai's first sandpool in ages.

Oh he was happy.

After playing in the park for a couple of hours...

He was found passed out on the sofa.

Those lips in full.

Yep, we had sausages and mash for dinner this Saturday.

Compliments to the cook (a.k.a. Daddy)!

Hooray, Another Saturday!

No, it's not Kai who is hooraying - it's me. Weekend means I get to have some free time for myself....

Like,

While G plays with Kai, I can read books or do errands.

This is Kai drawing a fish. For some reason, he loves fish.

He always asks for a big fish, and then a small one.

Weekend also means no cooking for me (hooray!). Today, G made a nice pizza. And after the lunch...

This is Kai waiting for a bite of icecream G was having.

Yep, No shame.

"What?"

Of course, a few spoonful of ice cream doesn't do it for Mr. big belly.

He goes for a banana straight after...

Finally recovered from the vicious flu, now I had to run some errands that have been long neglected and my parents came over to look after Kai (thank you!).

When I came home, i found Kai in....this state.

No, no, nothing is particularly wrong.

It's just...his shirt is tucked into his pants - or what do you call these? Man-tights? Something very elastic (I didn't know we had these, honest).

After lunch, we celebrated my mother's belated birthday.

Kai is very serious when it comes to choosing his cake.

He is only eating the creamy bits - he was stealing from others too! Naughty!

A flu epidemic has hit us hard this week - all of us has caught it, and it has been pretty nasty, to say the least.

Unfortuantely, Kai couldn't be spared either, and he tested postive yesterday.

So here is the picture of a boy who is supposed to be very very sick.

"what? Me?"

"Oh, yeah, I caught the nasty bug!"

"By the way, this is yummy!"

"I am serious. I am ill!!!"

"See, look at my sick face."

This morning at the breakfast table.

Kai helping to wisk some eggs. (Daddy was making some scrambled eggs on toasts.)

We cannot wait for the day when Kai can take over all the cooking in the house....

On this Saturday, one of Kai's little girlfriends just turned one - so off we went in the heavy snow to join them to celebrate her birthday!

little birthday princess.

Kai looking a bit uncertain about the party hat.

Game time!

With other kids.

Enjoying the party spirits.

Obviously, you know what you are seeing...

We all had such a great time. Thank you very much, Saiko and Oli!

This morning Kai got up earlier than I did (shame shame, I know) but he ran back to the bedroom screaming "Mummy, Mummy, it's snowing! It's snowing! Snow Snow!!!" - he was SO excited that he had to run back and forth and maybe skip a bit.

So, after the breakfast, G and Kai went outside to play in the snow. (I stayed in and enjoyed some time alone, of course.)

Kai in the full-on ski gear.

He had jump into the snow. Couldn't resist at all.

At the park.

Just so happy!

After a bit of exercise, boys came back and we had a nice tea - where Kai refused to share cookies with Daddy, and went further by giving him pretend cookies.

Kai likes to pretend.

Here, he is being a cat.

"Miaow! Miaow!"

He knows he is being cheeky.
