東日本大震災の被災者への支援をいち早く呼びかけたり、来日して「日本は安全」とアピールしたりして、親日家のイメージが強くなったレディー・ガガ。
話題となった「徹子の部屋」を見てて思ったのが、「ガガさんの英語って、けっこう聞きやすいなあ」ということ。
同時通訳の声がかぶっちゃってるので分かりにくいかもしれませんが、滑舌が良いというか、アメリカ人ありがちな早口でまくしたてるしゃべり方でなく、発音がクリアな気がします。低めでちょっとハスキーな声なんですけどね。
日本でのトークショーだからゆっくりしゃべってるのかなあ？ それだから分かりやすいのかも…、とも思ったんですが、彼女の歌を聞いてて、「あ、もともとこういう話し方なんだ～」と思いました。
「徹子の部屋」でも言ってましたが、ガガさんは実は"良いトコのお嬢さん(笑)"なんですよね。（Wikipediaに詳しく載ってます）
そういうこともあって「きれいな、上品な言葉づかいをしなさい！」ってしつけられたのかな～、なんて想像してしまったのですが、どうでしょう？ あの奇抜なファッション＆パフォーマンスとは全く違うイメージですけどね。
今どきの洋楽は、ラップ要素が強かったり曲調がいろいろ変わったりして、歌詞を聞き取るのが大変な曲も多いですが(^_^;)、ガガさんの曲はあのような曲調のわりには聞き取りやすいんじゃないのかなぁ、と思います。実際、私が教えに行ってる学校でも英語の授業でガガさんの曲を聞かせてディクテーションさせたりしてるし。
